Charles Homer MD, MPH, pediatrician and CEO of the National Initiative for Childhood Healthcare Quality, is quoted in this article discussing NICHQ's role working with numerous pediatric and public officials to create health programs that cover legal immigrant children and provide them quality health services. It points to the recently passed SCHIP legislation with the new Obama administration as a productive step forward. However, it cautions that there is still more work to be done.
