Findings and Recommendations from NICHQ Co-Sponsored Conference and Project on Health IT published

March 2009

The January supplement issue of Pediatrics features 14 articles on the enormous impact the use of health IT has on the quality of health care for children. The special issue also points out the challenges that need to be overcome to realize fully the potential of health IT to improve the quality and efficiency of health care. Edited by Lisa Simpson, MB, BCh, FAAP, National Director for Child Health Policy for The National Initiative for Children's Healthcare Quality (NICHQ), the supplement contains many articles that were commissioned as part of a two year project co-led by NICHQ and AHRQ that culminated in a conference held in March 2006 in Orlando, FL.  Funding for the supplement was provided by AHRQ.
