NICHQ Welcomes Tom Dahlborg as New Vice President

The National Initiative for Children’s Healthcare Quality (NICHQ) is pleased to announce that Thomas Dahlborg, MSM, has joined the executive staff as vice president for strategy and project director.

Mr. Dahlborg brings 23 years of collaborative leadership experience to NICHQ. His outstanding professional work includes bringing quality improvement to the healthcare arena, developing nationally recognized innovative access programs, addressing practitioner and patient needs and expectations, and developing and implementing focused and aligned strategies to improve health systems.

 “NICHQ is an amazing organization with high-quality staff dedicated to improving the health of children through innovative system improvement. I am so very excited to bring my collaborative leadership, quality improvement and other skills and experience to NICHQ along with my passion for ensuring our children are safe in the healthcare system and best positioned for optimal healing,” said Dahlborg.

Prior to joining NICHQ, Mr. Dahlborg served as the executive director of the Hygeia Foundation, a non-profit research institute. He has also served as the chief business strategy officer at Network Health, and as chief operating officer of the U.S. Family Health Plan at Martin's Point Health Care.

 “We’re very excited to leverage Tom’s expertise, energy and enthusiasm,” said Rachel Steele, chief operating officer and executive project director at NICHQ. “He’s bringing an incredible variety and depth of experience to the table, and we are looking forward to integrating his myriad of skills into our culture and strategy.”

Mr. Dahlborg received his MSM in Health Services Management from Lesley University and his BS in Healthcare Administration from Stonehill College. He lives in Gorham, Maine, with his wife and three children.
