March of Dimes - 2016 Premature Birth Report Cards
The definitive report on premature births in the United States.
Published by the March of Dimes, the 2016 Premature Birth Report Cards look at the state of premature births in the U.S. For the first time in eight years, the national preterm birth rate increased. The U.S. received a "C" average, and each state received its own grade and an analysis of its efforts to prevent premature births and improve full-term birth rates. This year's report card also highlighted the "widening differences in prematurity rates across different races and ethnicities."
As a partner on the NICHQ-led Collaborative Improvement and Innovation Network to Reduce Infant Mortality (IM CoIIN), the March of Dimes supports states in their initiatives to use quality improvement to address preterm birth and social determinants of health.
