Be Our Voice
NICHQ created Be Our Voice as part of the Mobilizing Healthcare Professionals as Community Leaders in the Fight Against Childhood Obesity program. Be Our Voice seeks to engage healthcare professionals as the voice of children in the fight against childhood obesity, ensuring that this collective voice is heard by legislators who make and enforce the rules and regulations that affect children's health.
Collaborate for Healthy Weight
Collaborate for Healthy Weight is a multi-sector project working to bring together public health, primary care and community-based organizations at the local, state, and national level for the promotion of healthy weight and health equity in the US.
National Advisory Council on Childhood Obesity
NICHQ's National Advisory Council (NAC) is a group of national experts from diverse backgrounds who bring unique knowledge, skills, and connections to aid the organization in accelerating improvement in childhood obesity prevention and treatment. The NAC serves to make recommendations and provide key guidance to NICHQ on our obesity work.
Childhood Obesity Action Network (COAN)
The Childhood Obesity Action Network is a web-based national network of healthcare professionals in all 50 states and 5 countries working on childhood obesity.<
Improving Prevention and Management of Childhood Obesity in the Clinical Practice Setting
This learning collaborative in Rochester, NY, is focused on helping pediatric practices improve BMI documentation, classification, and counseling rates for nutrition and activity. The project is composed of quality improvement teams, combined with instruction on evidence-based clinical practice guidelines for obesity and a practice toolkit, will help to promote improvements in obesity identification and counseling in the practice setting at well-child checks.
