Community Art Takes On Topic of Community Health
Mass in Motion Kids [active]
Mass in Motion Kids is an anti-obesity effort spearheaded by the Massachusetts Department of Health and funded by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. The project will take place in the communities of Fitchburg and New Bedford, Massachusetts, and will focus primarily on underserved children ages 2-12.
Nemours Early Care and Education Learning Collaborative [active]
The National Early Care and Education Learning Collaborative aims to spread sustainable policy and practice improvements in early care and education (ECE) programs to prevent childhood obesity. The project assists ECE providers to improve the quality of care they provide to young children with respect to nutrition, breastfeeding support, physical activity and screen time.
Obesity National Advisory Council [active]
NICHQ's Obesity National Advisory Council (NAC) is a group of national experts from diverse backgrounds who bring unique knowledge, skills, and connections to aid the organization in accelerating improvement in childhood obesity prevention and treatment. The NAC serves to make recommendations and provide key guidance to NICHQ on our obesity work.
Be Our Voice [completed]
Be Our Voice sought to engage healthcare professionals as the voice of children in the fight against childhood obesity, ensuring that this collective voice is heard by legislators who make and enforce the rules and regulations that affect children's health.
Childhood Obesity Action Network (COAN) [completed]
The Childhood Obesity Action Network was a web-based national network of healthcare professionals in all 50 states and 5 countries working on childhood obesity.
Collaborate for Healthy Weight [completed]
Collaborate for Healthy Weight was a multi-sector project working to bring together public health, primary care and community-based organizations at the local, state, and national level for the promotion of healthy weight and health equity in the US.
e-Plans to Promote Healthy Weight [completed]
e-Plans to Promote Healthy Weight was a project aimed at enhancing the capabilities of electronic health records (EHR) to include healthy weight plans. These plans are developed by primary care clinicians and families to help children adopt healthy behaviors oriented to achieving their optimal weight.
