NICHQ brings pediatric expertise to IHI’s 5 Million Lives Campaign!
When the Institute for Healthcare Improvement (IHI) set the goal of saving 100,000 lives in hospital settings by reducing the risk of infection in patients with their 100K Lives Campaign, NICHQ joined forces with other members of the Pediatric Affinity Group to provide pediatric expertise to the campaign.
For IHI’s expanded 5 Million Lives campaign in 2007, NICHQ worked in partnership with others to develop toolkits that physicians could use in clinical pediatric settings in order to set new Patient Safety standards and procedures.
Learn more about the toolkits under each of the topics listed below.
Not only did these campaigns succeed by drastically reducing the rate of infections in participating hospitals, but they shattered previously held notions that infections could not be stopped in these settings as many hospitals reached or neared a zero-infection rate.
