Position Overview
With the support and guidance of the Associate Director of Communications and Digital Strategy, the Web & Data Manager is a new position that will be responsible for developing and maintaining various technical products that support projects, from developing standalone project-based websites to reimagining a web-based project portal (formerly called CoLab) into customizable instances for current and future projects. While serving as a key liaison to our external development consultants, you’ll collaborate with other teams and lead the rebuild of a value-added project portal that exceeds the needs of users and stays within allocated budgets. The Web & Data Manager will also be responsible for maintaining systems for customer service and providing education and training on using the portal, working with project teams to create and disseminate various technical documentation.
Related to organizational operations, the Data & Web Manager will be responsible for general maintenance of NICHQ.org in collaboration with external support. You’ll also join the build team for a new NICHQ.org website, advocating for the needs of the web-based project portal and other features you’re passionate about. A small amount of your time will be spent supporting optimization of NICHQ’s CRM, HubSpot, and collaborating with the Communications & Digital Strategy team on system maintenance, process improvements, and overall system integrity.

Education: Bachelor’s degree in website development, digital marketing, computer science, information technology, or a relevant discipline preferred (or equivalent experience)

Position Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain technical products that support project teams and the groups they serve
- Liaise with development consultants on technical support and product development needs
- Develop technical documentation and training materials related to the use of the web-based project portal
- Collaborate on NICHQ.org redevelopment
- Management of development budgets and future improvements, with support from Associate Director
- Contribute to metrics analysis and team reporting (project portals, website, CRM, etc.)
TECHNICAL PRODUCT DEVELOPMENT
- Serve as internal lead to develop next iteration of web-based project portal, prioritizing needs of system users, NICHQ project teams, and budgets
- Collaborate with project teams to understand successes of early experiments, identify limitations, and find opportunities to increase engagement among users
- Liaise with external consulting firm to develop “packageable” portal product, planning feature improvements
- Track project use of CoLab and plan for implementation of new web-based project portal for select projects
WEBSITE & CRM MAINTENANCE
- Support ongoing maintenance of new NICHQ.org (expected ~10 hours/month), working with external consultants as needed
- Maintain HubSpot CRM integrations with the NICHQ website (gated content, mailing list) and any existing CoLab community sites (mailing list subscription and syncing profiles with CRM records)
- Support departmental process and system improvements in collaboration with the Communications Manager and Associate Director of Communications and Digital Strategy
- Other technical support needs co-identified by Web & Data Manager

Position Qualifications
- How to develop technical products, from needs assessment and ideation to implementation, maintenance, and improvement (minimum of 3 years equivalent experience)
- How to manage cross-team projects, keep complex timelines on track, and support project members to meet critical milestones
- Advanced use of various website content management systems, like WordPress, and CRM systems, like HubSpot
- How to manage basic website maintenance, such as CMS security updates, module/plugin updates, site monitoring, and technical audits
- How to write effective and engaging technical communication in a variety of mediums, to support training and self-service
- Which system metrics are the most important and how to glean meaning to make future decisions
