Implicit Bias Survey

Everyone has implicit bias.

Our brains recognize patterns based off what we see and experience (our environment) and we develop subconscious neural connections that influence our actions. Right now, we are operating on centuries and centuries of assumptions skewed by biases that influence how we act.

This means we are human, not bad people. But how we address those biases… that’s on us. Recognizing and addressing biases is a critical step towards addressing health disparities and achieving health equity.

What can you do now?

To address biases and the inequities they perpetuate, we first have to be courageous enough to explore our own implicit bias—to inquire and act. That's why we're asking you to help us illustrate the universal presence and effects of implicit bias. Share your stories with us, and we will create a storyboard of experiences (all anonymous) that can shared with others.

The purpose of this storyboard is to help us develop a collective understanding of how pervasive implicit biases’ effects are, and how every individual has a responsibility to recognize and address their bias.
