This compendium identifies promising practices and strategies used by participants in the Sickle Cell Disease Treatment Demonstration Program (SCDTDP) to implement changes in their health systems related to improving access to care, increasing use of hydroxyurea and provider education.

The purpose of this model protocol is to provide clinicians, nurses, allied health professionals, community-based organizations and public health agencies with recommendations and strategies to improve care provided to individuals with sickle cell disease and trait.

The Sickle Cell Disease Treatment Demonstration Program 2017 Congressional Report details the many activities, outcomes, lessons learned and recommendations stemming from this work.

The Collaborative Action Now to Defeat Obesity (CAN DO) Playbook helps primary care, public health and community leaders work together at a local level to defeat obesity. Through interactive exercises, the CAN DO Playbook teaches proven, field-tested improvement strategies for the many settings that influence health, including schools, clinics, hospitals and communities. 

This action kit is designed to reduce loss to follow-up for newborns after their initial hearing screening. The kit offers solutions for engaging families and enrolling newborns in early intervention services. The ideas can help audiologists and EHDI offices improve outcomes for infants with hearing loss.

In the Spread of Quality Improvement for Children and Youth with Special Healthcare Needs: An integrated Systems Strategy for Building the Title V Infrastructure project, NICHQ was tasked with improving the health and well being of children and youth with special healthcare needs and their families through building the capacity of state Title V programs to create and sustain effective community-based systems of care for this population.
